Permanent and other redirects

February 25th, 2009

Anyone attempting to view my old site will be greeted by a 301 Permanent Redirct to this newer site.  I have still have access to the content of the old blog, and may at some point import some of its articles into this blog.

If there is a specific article you wanted from the old site, particularly one of the more technical posts, let me know via the contact form, and I will consider either emailing it to you, or importing it.

As for ‘other’ redirects, well it just sounded nice in the title.  I didn’t want it to sound like an error page. lol.

OpenID issue resolved!

February 15th, 2009

With version 3.2.1 of the OpenID plugin, the issue I mentioned in a previous post is now resolved!

I wish more blogs supported OpenID.   I like being able to prove that I control the URL that I enter when I leave a comment.  It really helps prevent issues such as impersonation. One thing I absolutely hate is when blogging services require someone to be a member of their service in order to comment on blogs.  Many such services function as OpenID providers, but not consumers.  Don’t be half ass in your approach:  Support OpenID!

Yet another sleepless night

February 11th, 2009

It seems every time I have something important going on in the morning, I find myself unable to sleep well the night before.  Tonight is no exception.  Is this some twisted form of self-sabotage?  Or just nerves?  Or Murphy’s Law? Or some combination of  the above.  I don’t know the answer but I will try to get to the bottom of it.
